Consult Group for South Asian / Bipoc Therapists
Are you a therapist looking for a consultation group that speaks to your unique cultural and societal perspective?
We are leading a Consult Group for South Asian /BIPOC therapists who do couples therapy with (mostly) other South Asian or BIPOC couples clients. If you like being challenged and learning relevant, trauma-informed, neurobiology-based skills in a self-reflective atmosphere, this group is for you.
This group is both about you (the therapist) and about learning and sharing skills and interventions for your clients. You must be an experienced therapist (with a minimum of 3 years working with couples).
The sessions will be challenging and self-reflective. Each therapist will have a chance to present a case which we will discuss in the group. We’ll be learning from each other, using imaginative interventions, and using how we are showing up in the session as part of our process.
DETAILS
We’ll hold space for emerging topics/themes such as:
Therapy in all white spaces or with white therapists
The discomfort of being in all brown spaces
Inherited racism in our cultures
Living with endurance trauma and microaggressions
How to work with clients with different religious or cultural beliefs
How to show up in our seats as a fellow traveler
How to use your own therapy to improve your work
Having immigrant parents & 1st gen identity
Being 3rd culture
Do you struggle in session when your clients….
Seem to not change from one session to the next
Bring up issues like marriage, divorce, boundaries, or in-laws
Have power dynamic issues in their relationships
Suffer from patriarchal systems within their home
When working with clients you feel that…

TIMINGS & FEES
This group is by application only. Once you’ve been accepted into the group, it will meet from September- February. Once you’ve committed to the group, you are responsible for showing up to the group sessions and you are responsible for the fee regardless of your attendance.
Meeting times: Every other week via Zoom (timings TBD)
The meetings will not be recorded, live attendance is required.
Fee: The fee is $150 per group meeting. You get one “skip” session without incurring a fee. Payment is due in full before the group begins.
Apply now: Must be a fully licensed therapist / psychologist who is currently seeing couples clients. This will be an intimate and challenging group of up to 10 clinicians max. If the group is full, you’ll be added to a waitlist for the next cohort.

Sanaa Hyder, LMHC
Sanaa is a therapist working mainly with South Asian couples and individuals. She coaches couples who want to make lasting changes both within themselves and in their relationships. She is often the ‘last stop’ for couples. Sanaa grew up having lived in 5 countries, and often feeling “in between” cultures. Sanaa uses her lived experience of trauma, being first generation, being muslim, being a mom (among many other identities) to connect deeply with her clients. As part of her many identities, Sanaa is an artist and enjoys working with clients and other therapists who are also creative entrepreneurs.

Dr. Fritz Galette
Dr. Fritz leads Positive Psychology Associates, a practice based in New York City. With an approach that includes life coaching, performance training, hypnosis, and biofeedback, Dr. Fritz has helped countless clients reach greater potentials, including high level executives, business owners, traders, lawyers, athletes, entrepreneurs, and other professionals at all levels of the corporate ladder.
He runs small and large group workshops in both the private and nonprofit sectors, transforming ineffective groups into high functioning teams. His dissertation research on the impact of stress has been presented internationally. Dr. Fritz holds a 6th degree black belt in martial arts and has completed 21 New York City Marathons.
